''...There was a lot of kissing, jumping on the bed, partying out, eating out and everything...''This line sums up the Durjoy Dutta and Maanvi Ahuja firstborn Of Course I love You..!Till I find Someone better...Only I disagree with the ''and everything'' part which according to me should have been ''and nothing''.Those who like it(yes there are many because the cover page boldly claims the novel to be 'A National Bestseller') might argue with me about the multiple issues they have found interesting such as the contemporary ideas, the actual picture of the society and of course the lofty issues of a boy's growth(...umm 'boy'! nope Dev cannot be spared by this noun...'Man' might suit better...if manliness pertains to...you know what I mean).Chill buddies, its not an offence to like a ''f*****' (this is quoted from the novel...please do not block me...please please)Ok I must give my reasons for not liking the book.Actually I didn't find reasons enough to like it.There is nothing new in the story;the plot is sluggish, the protagonist is smart and sissy(nothing identifiable or unidentifiable),he is through out hanging out, eating out, jumping out and there is nothing of his 'in'ner self. The depth is missing and therefore it falls flat.Of course Durjoy Dutta and Maanvi Ahuja are not as turn off as their first book.Though the new arrival of Chetan Bhagat likes are fast making their mark yet they lack most of their pathfinder's skill.(though I haven't read many belonging to this group yet with the puny amount I have come to this conclusion)Hope I will be proved wrong or will be as happy...
Hmmmmm
ReplyDeleteI might sound biased (being a fan of Durjoy.. **Mark jus DurJ**)but i like his writing for the fact that life in metropolis are exactly the same ..specially wrt IT socials :) trust me on that..
I didn't much like the idea of the influence of guruji.. (kinda takes back to 18th century) but as a whole liked it..
Yes plot might not be strong enuff but U might like "Now that you are rich...lets fall in love" . It picks up ppl from different backdrops and how things twist n turn when they come together..I haven't read "She broke up..I didn't.." Pore bolbo :)
But come down to Blore for a week and take a ride across the life of the ITans here....U might agree wid what DurJ says "my pen hero" ;)
